Bacon Mac n Cheese


Posting this one for my kids. It is their favorite! Adding a touch of Velveeta gives it more creaminess.

8 oz. elbow macaroni
4 slices bacon, fried and crumbled
1 C. milk or heavy cream
1 egg, beaten
4 T. butter
2 C. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 tsp. mustard powder
1/4 tsp. paprika
salt and pepper to taste
bring pot of water to boil, add about 1 tsp. salt and then the pasta. Cook till tender, drain and add in butter, 1 1/2 C cheese, spices, egg and milk. Stir well, then stir in bacon. Place in a greased casserole dish and bake at 350 degrees for 20 min. remove and top with remaining cheese and bake and additional 5 minutes will melted.
