Grandmother's Apple Pie Recipe!!!!!!
Pie crust recipe is:
3/4 Cup of Crisco
1/4 C. Boiling Water (that is not a misprint use boiling water)
1 Tbs. Milk
Mix together and cut in 2 Cups All Purpose Flour
a Pinch of Salt.
Do not over mix, the more you mix the tougher it gets so just combine and form into 2 balls and roll between waxed paper.
Since this is such a large pie I doubled the recipe! I had enough dough left to make a small 6 inch blind baked shell for later!
Filling:
3 Gala Apples
6 Honey Crisp Apples
Peel, core and slice your apples
Juice of 1/2 lemon, to keep the apples from turning brown
1/4 Cup White
1/4 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
1 Teaspoon of Cinnamon
Toss the apples with the other ingredients to coat.
Fill your pie put a few dots of butter, top with the second crust
and bake at 350 for 1 & 1/2 hours. If you are making a smaller pie you may only need to bake for 1 hour or until you see the juices are bubbling.
Enjoy! Your house will smell absolutely amazing!
