1 frozen 9 inch pie shell
5 apples, any kind (8 for deep dish)
1 cup flour
1 cubes butter
1 tsp. cinnamon (scant)
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup brown sugar packed
Peel apples and dice. I dice mine whole like an onion. Put in a bowl with 1/2 tsp. cinnamon and 1/4 cup brown sugar. Stir to coat apples and pour into pie shell.
Put flour, salt, and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon in bowl and mix. Add butter and cut into mixture will until you have fine crumbs. Stir well. Pack mixture on top of apple pie. Pie will be domed, but will reduce in oven.
Place pie on cookie sheet in 350 degree oven and bake for 45-60 minutes until crust and top are lightly browned and bubbling.
Cool for 15 minutes and serve with whipped cream or ice cream. Slices very well and holds it's shape.
