Ice Pack

The nice weather is here and anyone active or who had kids certainly knows how much ice packs can be a life saver! But who wants to pay those prices? Not this girl! Here is a DIY for homemade, reusable gel packs! Easy to make and easy on the wallet!

2 cups water
1 cup rubbing alcohol or high-proof vodka (I used Everclear)
Food coloring for the blue tint (optional)
2 zip-top bags – quart or gallon-size or vacuum sealer bags

In your first bag, mix your water and the alcohol. Add food coloring to get the desired color if you wish. Squish it up to mix thoroughly. Insert in the a 2nd Ziplock bag. I recommend double bagging with Ziplock bags that have the colored seal so you KNOW it is closed. Toss it in the freezer and it is there when you need it!

Store bought ice packs can cost anywhere from $8 and up! This one costs less than $2 to make! Load up and always have them on hand whether you need them to cool an injury or to keep your lunch cold!

Thank you for all for allowing my things to be passed to so many!
