Kaiser Cinnamon Floweretts
2 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
2/3 cup white sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons active dry yeast
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 cup vegetable oil
6 cups bread flour
Cinnamon Filling
3/4 C butter- softened
1/4 C cinnamon
3/4 C brown sugar
Lemon Glaze
1 T. butter
1 T. Lemon Juice
1 1/2 C Powdered Sugar
Directions
In a large bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm water, and then stir in yeast. Allow to proof until yeast resembles a creamy foam.
Mix salt and oil into the yeast. Mix in flour one cup at a time. Knead dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth. Place in a well oiled bowl, and turn dough to coat. Cover with a damp cloth. Allow to rise until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour.
Punch dough down. Knead for a few minutes. Divide dough in half.
Roll dough out on a floured counter into a large 9x13 rectangle. Spread
softened butter on dough to cover it. Sprinkle Cinnamon and brown sugar over the butter. Take a knife and cut a strip 1 inch wide from the long side of the dough. Fold over lengthwise and pinch seems to make a breadstick.
Take the stick and tie a loose knot. On the ends of the knot take one side and wrap over and under the roll. The other side wrap under and over on the other side. Tuck under the roll. This makes your Kaiser floweretts. Place on a sprayed non-stick pan 1 inch apart. Repeat with the other half of dough. Allow to rise for 30 minutes, or until dough has risen double in size. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15-18 minutes. Let cool and
