Chile Mushroom Burgers

1 lb. lean ground beef
1 small onion, diced fine
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 c. crushed salad croutons
1/2 c. shredded cheese
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 can diced green chiles
1 can sliced mushrooms, drained
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
Mix all ingredients except meat in large bowl until blended well.
Add meat and mix well with other ingredients. Just take your hands and dig in to combine it all. (Make sure to wash well first)
Divide mixture into 8 plump patties.
Conventional Oven:
Preheat oven to 350°
Place a wire rack in baking pan to catch drippings. Place patties on rack and put into oven.
Bake 10 minutes on one side. Flip over and bake another 10 minutes or until meat is done to your liking. Do not over cook or they will not be plump and juicy.
NuWave Oven:
Power: High
10 minutes on each side
Spray lower rack with cooking spray. Place patties on rack and sit into bottom of oven.
Flip over after first 10 minutes and bake another 10 minutes. Do not over cook or they will not be plump and juicy.
REMEMBER!! WATCH YOUR PORTIONS! I have found that many do best when they control their portions rather than deny themselves food!
