Shortcut Apple Tart



Ingredients:
- 1 whole Sheet Puffed Pastry, Cut Into Half Or Thirds
- 4 whole Apples, Cored, Peeled, Halved, And Sliced (not too thick)
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt

Directions:
Preheat oven to 415 degrees.
- Puff pastry usually come with 2 in the box, so you’ll have to thaw enough to separate
- Place puffed pastry rectangles onto a baking pan that’s been sprayed with nonstick spray. Add Brown sugar and salt to apples. Stir to combine. Allow to sit for a few minutes.
- Arrange apple slices on the pastry rectangles in a straight line, overlapping as you go. 
- Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until pastry is puffed and golden brown.
- Remove from pan immediately and place on a serving platter. Serve plain, with Caramel topping, or a sprinkling of powdered sugar.

Note: if you’re omitting the Caramel and opting for say a “Sprinkle of Powdered Sugar,” I highly encourage you to ADD ½ Teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper… the sweet & spicy combination should not be missed!!

The CARAMEL:

Ingredients:
½ stick of Butter (about 4 Tblsp)
1 cup Brown Sugar
½ cup Cream (I like the richness that cream adds, but Milk or Half & Half can be substituted
1 Tblsp Vanilla
½ Tsp Cayenne pepper
Pinch of Salt
Pinch of Cardamom (optional) 

Directions: 
Mix butter, brown sugar, half & half, and salt in a saucepan over medium low heat. Cook while whisking gently for 5 to 7 minutes, until thicker. Add vanilla and cook another minute to thicken further. Turn off heat and pour sauce into a jar. Store in Refrigerator.

CHEESE CRISP CHIPS
- In a 350-400 degree oven, line with Parchment paper and spray paper with non stick spray
- Sprinkle a layer of cheese (your choice) in the pan
- Add any seasonings you like on top (garlic powder, herbs…)
- Bake until melted and crispy (about 4-7 min)
- Remove from oven and cool. Break into desired Size

*Note: hard cheese make good CRISPS chips, softer cheese crisps on edges but makes a nice LACEY, CHEWY chip
